Instrumental to the creation of the Child Welfare Law Board Certification for the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Tina Amberboy currently serves as Executive Director at the Supreme Court of Texas Children’s Commission. As Executive Director, she leads the development and execution of strategies, oversees daily operations and numerous projects, monitors proposed legislation affecting the child welfare system and manages the federal Court Improvement Program for Texas. She frequently publishes articles and reports regarding child welfare and publicly speaks on the matter to congressional and state legislative staff, national and private organizations, among others.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Amberboy taught Family Rights Practice and Litigation at Baylor Law School as an adjunct professor and before that, provided legal representation to children and parents involved in child protective services cases.

Ms. Amberboy is a member of the National Association of Counsel for Children and National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. She is co-founder of the Austin Bar Association Section of Court Appointed Family Attorneys and member of the American Bar Association Center on Children and the Law. She also serves on the Department of Family and Protective Services Public-Private Partnership. Several of her publications have appeared in the Texas Bar Journal.

Ms. Amberboy received her bachelor’s degree at The University of Texas at Austin and her juris doctor from Baylor Law School.
